The Metropolitan Transit Authority recently agreed to purchase 95 electric buses for over $138 million. The eco-friendly buses will service two of the city’s busiest routes, the Orange and Silver lines. Leading the nation in the adoption of clean technology, Metro’s goal is to convert its entire fleet by 2030. In order to reach this ambitious goal, Metro will need to replace approximately 200 buses per year.
