BEVERLY CENTER FOOD HALL

The unveiling of the long overdue $500-million Beverly Center remodel has been keeping us all in suspense. An important component of the new and improved retail center is the Street, a food court on the shopping mall’s top floor curated by James Beard Award winning chef, restaurateur and cookbook author Michael Mina. Heading the renovation, international Italian architect Massimiliano Fuksas is staying true to his vision of a light and airy space as revealed by new photos of the remodel. The food hall is centered around a 52 foot waterfall-style glass ceiling flooding the venue with natural light and offering sweeping views of the Hollywood Hills and Downtown. Expansive skylights are also being installed near Bloomingdale’s, and the facade will be modernized with perforated steel panels. A row of street-level restaurants are also in the works. Although stores remain open during construction, visitors must wait patiently for at least another year as completion of the project is currently slated for late 2018.
